BGP is configured between router R1 and R2. You want to verify that this connection is working, what command should you use?
- A. show ip bgp summary
- B. show ip bgp commections
- C. show bgp path
- D. show ip route
BGP neighbours are TCP forming routers based connections for exchanging updates with each other. These neighbours are called BGP peers or BGP Speakers as well. Mainly there are two types of neighbourship:
- - Internal BGP
- - External BGP
In case of EIGRP and OSPF, the neibourship happens automatically using the multicast address however in BGP the neighbourship need to be formed manually. For example, please refer to the below diagram where we have 2 routers connected to each other.
If we have to create a neighbourship between the two, we will have to manually specify the command on the routers to form adjacency. On Router A, we specify neighbour 220.127.116.11
On Router B, we specify neighbour 18.104.22.168
If all the configuration is correct on both the routers and if both are reachable then the neighbourship will be formed.
